Cruis'n in Mickey's Toon Town

Two things Xander loves to do is to play musical instruments and play in cars.  So he was in heaven being able to do both in Mickey's Toon Town.

Walking through Mickey's house we had to stop so Xander could pound out a song on the piano.
Not quite a guitar, but it was close enough for Xander to shred a few chords.

Finally, a car I can play in that I can't break anything.

"Hey you slow poke, get a move on or pull it over and park it!"

"You need to ask my permission to get inside my car buddy."

Taking his best girl for a cruise around town.

They look like they are having a great time cruis'n around town.

Blast Off!

While at Disneyland over the weekend, Xander took his Mommy for a ride in a rocket.
The sun was in Xander's eyes while trying to snap this picture, so as we kept calling for him to look at the camera he couldn't figure out where we were.
Same thing; we aren't sure who he was looking at, but we couldn't get him to look at us.
We barely got a shot of them as they blasted by us.  Xander kept yelling out, "Daddy!, Daddy! Rocket! Rocket!"
Coming in for a landing.

Here Comes Christmas

A picture of all of us in front of the Disneyland Christmas tree.  This is the first Christmas picture of all four of us together.

Xander's First Bumper Car Ride

Xander finally passed the height requirement to rind the Bumper Cars at Flik's Fun Fair in Disney's California Adventure.  He wasn't tall enough to reach the pedal or turn the steering wheel, but he had a great time anyway.

Even though he couldn't steer, he was having fun telling me which people to bump into.
Before I knew it, he was trying to get into another car to go again.

Chef Xander

On Sunday morning Xander made waffles for Mommy.

Xander mix'n it up.
One thing is for certain...Xander loves to help out in the kitchen.

Our First Family Movie Night

No matter how hard you try to give the proper amount of attention to your first-born after the baby arrives, they still feel the affect of all the change.  We have been very intentional with Xander since Alaster's arrival and for the most part he is doing really good, but you can still sometimes see the difficulty he has with adjusting to all the new stuff taking place.  No matter how hard we've tried to make sure he's not ignored or doesn't get enough time with us, the fact remains that he has to share our time and attention with Alaster.

With that being the case, we wanted to do something special with Xander this weekend; just the three of us.  So we came up with a plan that once we got Alaster to sleep and in his crib that we would build a fire and watch a special movie with Xander.  Thankfully, earlier in the week a very cool move came out on Blu-Ray.

This is great Blu-Ray; we all had an awesome time watching it.

Lightning and Mater are two of his favorites, so we cuddled up on the floor with our pillows, blankets and Teddy to watch the show.  The Blu-Ray has 9 hilarious adventures of Mater and Lightning.  It was fun to watch Xander having such a great time and it was even better to let him have us all to himself for the night.

Xander and Daddy are ready for Movie Night.

We took an intermission in the middle of the feature to have some pumpkin pie.  For some reason (and we still don't know why) Xander wanted us to all sit on the floor in the kitchen to enjoy our dessert.
He scarfed down his so fast we almost didn't get a picture of him enjoying it.  If you look close, you can see how much he loves the pumpkin pie by how he's curling his big toe...too cute.

He was having a great time and climbed up on Mommy's lap to give her a big kiss.
He just so darn cute that it's hard sometimes to quit taking pictures, especially when he's holding so still.

A Visit From Grandpa Woody and Cynthia

Grandpa Woody and Cynthia came over to hang out last week to spend some time with all of us. Grandpa got down on the floor with Xander to play and Xander gave him a run for his money. Xander just about wore him out, but thankfully he survived. Alaster was happy to see them as well and loved being spoiled for a few hours of being snuggled and smooched on.

Alaster's looking pretty comfy with Grandpa Woody
Alaster catching a few z's with Cynthia.
Is he awake?  Is he asleep?  Who knows, but one thing is for sure...he's comfortable.
Grandpa Woody and Xander sharing a bowl of Trader Joe's Pumpkin Ice Cream.  (For the record, it's worth every penny you pay for it; it's absolutely the best pumpkin ice cream we've ever had).

Xander Carved A Pumpkin on Halloween

To celebrate the start of Fall, Xander carved a pumpkin.  He had a great time playing with all the slimy guts and goo.

Xander loved digging into the guts of the pumpkin.
He did a great job of getting it all cleaned out.
Getting a helping hand from Daddy.
Showing off the handful of pumpkin guts; he really loved all the slime and goo.
Xander separated all the guts from the seeds so we could roast them.

He had a great time playing with all the slimy guts of his pumpkin.
Once again, he proudly shows off a handful of pumpkin guts for the camera.
When we finished he happily named the new member of our family "Happy."

Mommy's Boys

Here are a few pictures for Mommy.

Alaster was sleeping quietly in Daddy's arms when all of sudden we looked down and saw that he had figured out the joy of sucking his thumb.
He continued to suck his thumb for about 10 minutes until Daddy moved and rustled him from his peaceful slumber.
Mommy's dream team.
Good thing Daddy likes to cuddle.
What's so funny about these pictures of Alaster sleeping is that you would think that his surroundings are as peaceful and quiet as he seems to be, but that isn't the case.  The TV is on, Xander is running around playing with his toys, Mommy is doing laundry all the while Daddy is talking to them all.  Alaster sleeps harder when "life" is going on around him; turn off the lights and have it all nice and quiet and he'll wake right up.

Recent Trip To Disneyland

Exploring the park.
Chasing bubbles with a little help from Daddy.

Trying to snap a picture where Xander is actually smiling and looking at the camera at the same time is becoming more and more challenging, so you take what you can get.  But what do you expect when bubbles are floating all over the place; nonetheless, it's a great smile.
Riding King Triton's Carousel with Mommy...
...and having a great time.
