Xander's First Day of Preschool

After much thought and prayer decided that it would be best for Xander to head to preschool.  Thankfully there is a great one just down the road from Bob's office, so we got him enrolled (at the last possible minute of course) and we were off and running.

It has turned out to be a really good decision on our part because he is doing really good.  He just turned 3, so of course they had him in the 3 year old class, but that only lasted a week.  We got a phone call from the school a few days ago and they wanted to talk to us about how Xander was doing.  Of course our first thought was, "Oh man, what did he do now?"  We were relieved when we found out that they wanted to talk to us about moving him to the 4 year old class because he was so much farther along than where a typical 3 year should be.  Not that we want to brag or anything, but he just turned 3…like 2 weeks ago.  He's not 3 and almost 4, but he is just starting out at 3.  To know that he is doing so well was an absolute joy for us as parents to say the least.

Anyway, enough bragging about our super intelligent and gifted son…here are some pics from his first day of school.

A nice pic of Xander and Alaster before we headed to school.
Xander and Dad before heading into his preschool.
Xander and Mom before heading into preschool.
Xander heading the front door of preschool
Xander and Mommy exploring the classroom.
Xander loved the fact that all the sinks and toilets were at a level he could use without help.  Out of respect for his privacy we'll forgo the picture of him and the toilet.
Xander checking out the playground.
Xander started out as a Sea Turtle (3 year old), but then moved to the Sea Horse class (4 year old).
Xander giving Mommy a big kiss goodbye as he rushed us out the door.
The end of his first day of preschool; heading to the car.

Colorado Vacation - Part Deux

Mommy and Daddy Deer in the backyard.
Daddy and Xander looking for fish in the river.
Lisa and Alaster catching some rays.
All Aboard!
On the banks of the Arkansas River.
Keeping the over zealous boy in check.
Praise the Lord for Kaelyn Mossholer; our babysitter for the week…if every family could be so blessed.
We have no idea what this is or why it's there.
That's a 8 point Buck taking a dump…in case you ever wanted to see something like that.
In Leadville, CO…again, we have no idea why he's here or what he is.
Leadville, CO…the highest elevated city in the U.S.
A couple of Hobo's walking towards their ride across country.
Thank goodness Xander is such a sturdy little boy…otherwise he would have been crushed.
Xander loves trains.
He had to pose in front of the train with Mommy too.
A beautiful view along our drive through the Rocky Mountains…we had to stop and take a pic.
Mommy and Xander taking it all in.
Nice scenery don't you think.
Just a family picture in the Rockies.
Cottonwood Lake, CO…we were the first ones on the lake and the first ones to catch a fish.
Getting ready to drown some worms…Xander's first fishing trip ever.
So just how long will it take to catch a fish anyway?
I'm sure there is some kind of photographer's explanation for this shot, but we can't think of what it might be.
Xander's first fish!!!!!  That's my Boy!
He was a little unsure about the whole 'Fish out of Water thing.'
Alaster was ready to eat it right then and there.
Alaster hanging out on the shoreline of Cottonwood Lake.
Xander going for fish #2.
Lisa and the boys enjoying the beautiful lakeside.
He's pretty much happy all the time.
Xander's catch after only an hour and a half of fishing…he's a natural.
Alaster hanging out while we packed to go home.
Xander helping us pack to go home.  What a silly boy!
