X-Man's First Haircut

We have trimmed his hair on our own before, but this was his first real haircut. It was amazing how he transformed into a little boy right before our eyes; his baby look went away. He was a really good boy and sat in the chair without any fuss; it was a enjoyable time for all of us.

Xander and Nitening (Lightning McQueen)

Cars is one of Daddy's favorite movies, so as you can imagine, it's one of Xander's favorite things as well. He doesn't watch any TV or movies (well, he watches some, but very, very little. Which we just allowed him to start doing in the last few months). He loves Lightning and Mator and when he got to meet them face-to-face he was ecstatic.
I'm amazed we got him to hold still long enough to snap this pic.
He was having a great time yelling to everyone. He was so thrilled at all of this that a number of people stopped to see what he was so excited about. He kept hollering at them to look at Lightning.
He was in paradise. Before he left he had to make sure he blew kisses to them both.

Brownie Batter Mmmmmmmmmmmm........

The other night Xander was helping make brownies. When Mommy wasn't looking, Daddy slipped him the spatula so he could lick the batter off it. Xander doesn't eat candy or sweets at all, so the occasional treat like this is usually met with not only happiness, but a look of question too.
When the batter hit his lips and tongue he looked at me with that puzzled look of, "why haven't I ever had this before? Why are you guys holding out on me?"

Anyway...he love it. It's fun to watch him discover new things; especially the new things that he enjoys.

Me & My Best Buddy

There are many very cool things about being the daddy of a little boy, but there are two that come to mind based on these pictures. One is the fact I have a best friend who wants to nothing more than to play with me every chance he gets. Second is that I have an excuse to play with all of my old toys.

Daddys Big Helper

Xander and I picked up a small load of Firewood. He helped me unload it from the back of the truck, stack it, and clean up afterwards. I know the time will come when he doesn't want to be near me, let alone help me work...so I'll take all I can get for now.

Easter 2010

Opening his Easter cards with Mommy.
Xander exploring his Easter Baskets.
Enjoying his Easter Baskets.
Surprised to discover that the egg opens up...only to reveal it's empty.
Learning to hunt for Easter Eggs; he did a pretty good job.
If he only knew how to count he could tell you how many eggs he'd found.
Showing off the rewards of all his hard work.

Big Boy

Xander is growing way too fast. This weekend we had to buy him some new shirts because he had outgrown everything else. After we put on his new clothes Lisa and I both looked at each other with sad face's and said, "He's not our baby boy anymore."

He's grown out of that infant stage finally. It's a sad reality, but I know we'll love this next phase of his life just as much.
