August - 2010

Xander helped us plant some flowers in the flower box in our backyard. I was so surprised at how much he like playing in the dirt; I had no idea how much little boys love to get dirty (wink, wink).

Sadly though, when dad went shopping at Lowes he was unaware that a bag of Garden Soil actually meant "cow poop." (why they can't label a big bag of cow poop as 'cow poop' is beyond my Ninja of Incredibly Lame Things to comprehend). Needless to say, by the time we were done Xander and Daddy smelled lovely. A small price to pay for adding some beauty to our backyard I guess.

These pictures are of Xander showing off his hard work for Mommy.

So does anyone else love their iPhone as much as I do? For a Daddy Ninja of Incredibly Lame Things, it can make me out to be quite the hero to my boy. In just on click of my iPhone camera I was able to create this awesome photograph of Xander and one of his many best friends.

Just in case anyone was wondering, Lisa is a Mexican food addict. If she could eat it every day of her life she would. So it's not a surprise that Xander has acquired a pallet for it as well. Little did we know that giving him some salsa to dip his chips in would turn into a joyous time of slurping noises that the folks at the neighboring table thought was way too funny (which only egged him on even more).

X's 1st Beach Trip

It wasn't the warmest of days, but he had a great time anyway.

Some Playground Fun

Xander loves zip'n down the slide.

Fun in the Water

...and playing with the garden hose.

Our New Pool

Like many people in SoCal, we finally decided to invest in a new pool for our back yard. After years and years of saving our money we were finally able to afford one.

Introducing Alaster Xaeden Penberthy...

...the latest addition to our family who is set to arrive on the scene October 18th, 2010. Not only will this be our second child, but our second son, and we're so excited that we can hardly wait.

His name has special meaning in a couple of different ways. Alaster is a Gaelic and Scottish name derived from Alexander which means "Defender of Men." Not only is this awesomely prophetic name, but it's the same meaning as Xander, our first son.

Xaeden is a combination of Xander Caeden, which are the first and middle name of our first son and it means "Sower of Seeds". This too can be viewed as prophetic.

Below is a video with the first glimpse of our baby boy. He could hardly keep still long enough to capture any of this, so we are certain he and big brother will have no trouble keeping Mom and Dad busy.
