Decorating the Christmas Tree

Mommy and Xander decorated the Christmas Tree.  Xander was a huge help as you might have imagined; at least when he wasn't distracted by the ladder set up in the living room.  We said he could climb up just one rung and of course he was sure we told him he could climb all the way to the top.  Thank goodness we were keeping a close eye on him, otherwise he would have been at the top in the blink-of-an-eye.

This year decorating has been done in stages and those stages have been determined by Xander and Alaster.  This is much different than years past, but just like everything else in our life we had to make some adjustments.  The great part of making all of these adjustments is that we do them joyfully and willingly.  Decorating the Christmas Tree in the past may have happened all in one day, but seeing the joy and happiness in Xander when he hangs a candy cane or strings the lights is worth all the chaos; it just can't be beat.

And while Mommy Xander were hard at work you can bet that Alaster was right there making sure they were getting the job done right.

Alaster was close at hand to make sure his big brother did a good job.

Xander quickly got the hang of it (Get it?  He got the hang of it; he's hanging ornaments on the tree…oh never mind).
Xander really did have a great time decorating; he was on hand at every stage to help Mommy.
Xander is the big boy who gets to climb on the ladder (at least that was his assessment of the situation).
Alaster was pleased with the final result.

Our travel Christmas Tree in the family room (Since our engagement to be married, every where we travel we find a Christmas ornament as our souvenir and it gets hung on this tree, and now Xander and Alaster's  Christmas ornaments for each year as well).
Our Travel Christmas Tree has ornaments from all over and is a great way to reminisce over the trips we've been blessed to take.
