Playtime at the Park

This post is from our trip to the park on Saturday.  Xander was in need of some one-on-two time with Mom and Dad, so we headed out for an afternoon with just the 3 of us.  We played on the playground, watched some little league baseball (which lasted all of 30 seconds because he was bored...he's definitely my son), a small picnic of cheese and crackers in the grass, then some soccer time.  When we finished at the park he got to choose what we had for dinner and he picked Burgers and Fries.  It was a great afternoon and it seemed to have made a difference because he hasn't stopped talking about it.

Xander loves going down the slide.
Xander and Mommy seeing who could swing the highest.
Daddy and Xander going head-to-head on the racing slide.
Xander wasn't too fond of the tire-swing, but he stayed on long enough
for us to take this picture.
We thought he might enjoy it more if he rode it with Dad...not so much.
Xander kicking the soccer ball around; he's got a nice strong boot and does
pretty good at dribbling the ball too.
His attention quickly focused on the big tree he needed to climb.
He gave it 100%, but still didn't get all that far off the ground.
We'll keep working on this with him.
A short break to grub on some cheese and crackers on the grass.

Mommy was very proud of her big boy today.  As you can see in this
video, he is very helpful and nice to other kids.

On the teeter-totter Mommy got a quick kiss from her boy.
Xander and Mommy trying to keep Daddy in the air on the teeter-totter.
Needless to say, their efforts were in vain.
Xander and Mommy having some fun on the whoop-de-doo slide.
Xander got a little turned around on this run; he was laughing pretty hard though.
A nice shot of Mommy and her big baby boy.
Lisa and I were both a little surprised at how well he traversed this ladder.
After we got so excited for him, he had to show off for the camera.
The last step is a doozy.
Victory is so sweet.

I know...we're bad parents.  But we just couldn't help but see what would happen.
We were both laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes.  Thankfully Xander
thought it was just as funny.

Nothing beats finding a big stick to play with.
An end to a very fun day.
